It was a complete debacle!

We REALLY tried.

Typically – this is what a Sunday message looks like for me.

But Sunday . . . the staff and I, in an attempt to keep you engaged with the message and in keeping with our core values, we wanted to make sure that there was a fun element so we were going to try a skit.

So – because my personal goal right now is to be “more prepared and less last minute,” this is what Sunday looked like.

Note – it was color-coordinated and EVERYTHING.

Yet – it was a COMPLETE debacle.

There were technical issues, because we had a last minute absence, we changed the skit which took Brad out of the technical side and it just was too many parts/pieces for Josh and Dave to manage. There was a time delay, microphones were not muted, it was just awful. In fact, if you want a laugh at our expense, watch the video! You can see how poor it really was!

Because we are all online now, we do have a significant amount of first time guests. In fact, Sunday we had two folks from Wisconsin worshiping. We were mortified of the “image” we were portraying. But we couldn’t “fix it” in the moment, we had to go with it.

Then when we evaluated it, in the moment we had to decide, “How are we going to handle this? Are we going to beat ourselves up about it all week or are we just going to accept that we made mistakes and we need to learn from our mistakes.”

We chose to “let it go.”

One thing to remember in regards to happiness . . .

Our circumstances don’t control our happiness nearly as much as we think they do. So, when things to wrong, we are having a bad series of events, that doesn’t mean we can’t be happy. We choose.

What is something you are wrestling with now that is causing you to be unhappy?

How can you view that something differently?

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
